The One With the Boobies

Thursday, 19 January 1995

Chandler walks in on Rachel undressed and she demands an equal look in return, Joey discovers his father has a mistress and confronts him, and Phoebe's psychiatrist boyfriend analyses the whole group until she ends it.

What happens

• Chandler lets himself into Monica and Rachel's apartment without knocking and accidentally sees Rachel topless when her towel slips.
• Phoebe's new boyfriend Roger, a psychiatrist, tells Chandler that his jokes are a way of holding people off, then correctly guesses that Chandler is an only child of divorced parents.
• Joey grabs the phone from his visiting father and works out that he is talking to a woman named Ronni, and his father admits to a six-year affair.
• Rachel catches Chandler staring at her chest and decides he now owes her a look at him, and Ross backs her up.
• Roger suggests that Ross sabotaged his own marriage to spare Monica, which sets Ross and Monica arguing about which of them their parents preferred.
• Ronni turns up at the apartment, and Joey refuses to let his father share a hotel room with her and orders him to either end the affair or tell his mother.
• Rachel sneaks into Joey and Chandler's apartment to catch Chandler in the shower, and walks in on Joey instead.
• Joey's mother arrives and reveals that she has known about Ronni for years, and that she is angry with Joey for pushing her husband to come clean.
• Joey reports that his parents have gone back to exactly how they were, and concludes that he has to let them make their own mistakes.
• Phoebe breaks up with Roger, admitting to the others that she disliked him too.
