Chandler quits his data-processing job and then takes it back with a promotion, Monica cooks an audition dinner for a restaurant backer who arrives stoned, and Joey coaches Ross through talking dirty to a new girlfriend.

What happens

• Chandler is offered a promotion to processing supervisor and quits on the spot rather than admit the job is his career.
• Phoebe offers Chandler a head chef post at her client Steve's new restaurant, and when Chandler turns it down Monica claims it.
• Chandler pays a career counsellor, and a full day of tests concludes that he is ideally suited to data processing for a large corporation.
• Monica lands an audition and arranges to cook dinner for Steve at the apartment on Monday.
• Monica hires a waitress from work for the dinner instead of Rachel, which offends Rachel.
• Celia asks Ross to talk dirty during their date and he panics and blurts out a clinical anatomical term.
• Joey drills Ross in dirty talk until Ross gets going, and Chandler walks in on the two of them mid-practice.
• Chandler's old boss keeps calling with better offers, and Chandler ends the call by agreeing to return on Monday.
• The waitress cancels, and Monica bargains Rachel up to twenty dollars an hour to serve the dinner.
• Steve turns up high, raids Monica's cupboards instead of waiting for her courses, and Monica throws him out and loses the job.
• Ross tells Joey the dirty talk worked, though he and Celia only ended up cuddling again.
