The One With the Dollhouse

Thursday, 10 April 1997

Monica inherits her late aunt's dollhouse and shuts Phoebe out of playing with it, Rachel sets Chandler up with her boss Joanna, and Joey sleeps with Kate, who tells him afterwards that it meant nothing.

What happens

• Ross tells Monica that their Aunt Silvia has died, and their father is giving Monica the dollhouse she was never allowed to touch as a child.
• Joanna meets Chandler at Rachel's office and asks Rachel to find out whether he is available.
• Phoebe furnishes the dollhouse with an oversized dog, a ghost and a dinosaur, and Monica bans all of them, so Phoebe walks out.
• Phoebe comes back with a dollhouse she built herself, complete with a slide, an edible room and bubbles, and Ross and Rachel abandon Monica's house for it.
• Chandler tells Rachel the date was dull, while Joanna tells Rachel it went perfectly and asks to be put through when he calls.
• Kate and Joey rework their scene by inventing a far more physical version of it, and end up acting it out together.
• Joey tells Ross and Monica that he slept with Kate and describes watching her sleep afterwards.
• Kate refuses to tell the director anything happened and tells Joey it meant nothing to her.
• Phoebe arrives to find her dollhouse burned to a shell, and Ross explains that the fire started in the incense room.
• Rachel twists Chandler's nipple until he admits to Joanna that he will not call her and that it is over.
