The One After Vegas

Ross and Rachel wake up married after a drunken night in Vegas, and Ross quietly keeps the marriage instead of annulling it, while Chandler and Monica call off their own wedding and move in together.

What happens

• Joey and Phoebe rush into the chapel expecting a Ross and Rachel wedding, Chandler and Monica pretend that is why they are there too, and Monica tells Phoebe a Vegas marriage is binding everywhere.
• Ross and Rachel wake up in bed together with no memory of the night, and Ross stands up with "Just Married" written across his back.
• Joey learns his film has been shut down, and Phoebe makes him drive her cab home with her so the two of them can repair their friendship.
• Chandler tells Joey the near-wedding proved he and Monica are rushing, and Monica separately tells Phoebe she thinks it is too soon as well.
• The group breaks it to Ross and Rachel that the two of them actually got married, and Ross insists on an annulment rather than a third divorce.
• Chandler and Monica agree to let a dice roll decide the wedding, Monica rolls an eight, and they seize on it being the wrong kind of eight to call the whole thing off.
• Joey sleeps through almost the entire drive despite promising Phoebe a fun trip, then takes the wheel and picks up a hitchhiker while she is asleep.
• Ross tells Rachel he has decided not to annul the marriage, because he refuses to be a man with three failed marriages.
• Rachel refuses to stay married and threatens to file for the annulment herself, and Ross gives in and agrees to handle it.
• Monica and Chandler agree they do not want a wedding, and Chandler asks to move in with her instead, which she accepts.
• Ross tells Rachel the annulment is done, then admits to Phoebe that he never filed it and swears her to secrecy.
