Thursday, 27 April 2000

Elizabeth's father Paul tells Ross he disapproves of the age gap, Rachel starts dating Paul herself, and Joey discovers the technician who operates his robot co-star can have him fired.

What happens

• Ross tells his friends that Elizabeth's father wants to meet him and asks them to be there to make him look good.
• Joey meets C.H.E.E.S.E. on set, calls the robot unimpressive, and offends Wayne, the man who built and operates it.
• Paul tells Ross outright that he does not want him seeing his daughter, then gives him two minutes to change his mind.
• Rachel catches Paul at the coffee house, learns he raised Elizabeth alone after his wife died, and finds herself attracted to him.
• Joey's agent offers him an audition for the lead in Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E., which is the part Joey already has.
• Ross walks in on Rachel kissing Paul, and Rachel proposes a double date where she will use her new access to sell Ross to him.
• At dinner Rachel's flattering stories keep backfiring, and she accidentally exposes both of Ross's failed marriages.
• Phoebe reveals she wrote Monica and Chandler's mix-up over the movie time into her book and said nothing while they missed it.
• Wayne offers to save Joey's job if Joey teaches him how to talk to women, and Joey agrees.
• Elizabeth tells her father she will keep seeing Ross whatever he thinks, and Paul settles for agreeing with Ross that neither of them likes Ross.
