The One With Ross's Teeth

Thursday, 18 November 1999

Ross over-whitens his teeth before a date with Monica's assistant chef, Phoebe makes out with a copy-room worker who claims to be Ralph Lauren, and Joey tries to keep Janine's decorating out of the living room.

What happens

• Chandler sees how much of the apartment Janine has redecorated and tells Joey to stand up for himself.
• Phoebe tells Rachel she kissed Ralph Lauren in the copy room at Rachel's new office.
• Joey lists everything of Janine's he objects to and then accepts each item in turn.
• Ross arrives with badly over-whitened teeth, having left the gel on an extra day before his date.
• Phoebe fails to recognise Ralph Lauren's photograph, and Rachel works out that the man was Kenny from the copy room.
• Kim tracks the copy-room keycard to Rachel and accuses her of sleeping with Ralph Lauren to take Kim's job.
• Chandler confronts Joey over the flower arranging, and Joey's hurt reaction convinces him that Chandler is right.
• Hillary's black light lights up Ross's teeth, and the date ends with her demanding an explanation.
• Rachel invents an affair with Ralph Lauren and a tearful break-up, and Kim believes her and comforts her.
• Joey tells Janine to clear the living room, then asks her to move each item into his bedroom instead.
