The One With Ross's Wedding (Parts 1 & 2)

Thursday, 7 May 1998

The friends fly to London for Ross's wedding, where the venue is torn down early and Emily nearly calls the whole thing off, while Rachel finally recognises that she still loves Ross.

What happens

• Ross asks Rachel to come to the wedding, and Rachel turns him down, telling him that work will not let her.
• Ross, Emily and Monica arrive at the wedding hall and find it already half demolished, several days ahead of schedule.
• Phoebe mentions in passing that Rachel is still in love with Ross, and Rachel works out that the whole group has known for a while.
• Emily wants to put the wedding off, Ross refuses outright, and Emily walks out on him saying they may not marry at all.
• Monica tells Ross how long Emily has been imagining this day, and Ross asks his sister to help him repair the damage.
• Monica and Ross bring Emily back to the wrecked hall and describe the wedding they could still hold in it, and Emily accepts.
• Rachel packs a bag for London and tells Phoebe that she is going to declare her feelings to Ross before he marries.
• Jack Geller reads the bill for his half of the wedding, finds home renovations listed on it, and sends Ross to confront Emily's father.
• Ross bursts in to celebrate with Chandler without noticing Monica hiding in the bed, and Chandler and Monica are left awkward about the night they have spent together.
• Rachel reaches the church, and instead of telling Ross how she feels she congratulates him on the marriage.
