The One With the Truth About London

Thursday, 22 February 2001

Joey gets ordained online to marry Monica and Chandler, and while planning the ceremony Monica admits that in London she came looking for Joey that night, not Chandler; meanwhile Rachel teaches Ben practical jokes.

What happens

• Ross is called to a meeting at the university and leaves Ben with Rachel, who has never looked after him alone.
• Phoebe tells Monica and Chandler that anyone can be ordained over the Internet, and Chandler turns down both her and Joey.
• Rachel entertains Ben by teaching him the pranks she used on her sisters, including a coin blackened to leave a line down someone's face.
• Joey argues that a friend should perform the ceremony rather than a stranger, and Monica and Chandler agree to let him do it.
• Ross comes back angry that Ben has covered a toilet seat in plastic wrap, forbids Rachel from teaching him pranks, and does not notice the line on his own face.
• Phoebe reads the side effects on the pills Monica gave her and becomes convinced she is suffering all of them.
• Joey asks how Monica and Chandler first got together, and in a flashback to London Chandler comforts Monica after a bad night and she kisses him.
• Phoebe pushes Monica into admitting she went to that room looking for Joey, and a hurt Chandler takes the wedding away from Joey.
• Rachel goes to Carol's to make Ben promise to stop, Ross finds her there, and she wins the argument by pointing out that Ben now enjoys her company.
• Joey tells Chandler that he and Monica are made for each other, and Chandler asks him to say exactly that at the wedding.
