The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs

Thursday, 23 November 2000

Phoebe hides a dog in the apartment on Thanksgiving, Chandler admits he is frightened of dogs rather than allergic, and Rachel tells her assistant Tag that she has a crush on him.

What happens

• Chandler runs a game in which everyone has six minutes to name all fifty states, and Joey wins by listing fifty-six.
• Ross bets Chandler that he can name every state before dinner, and agrees to go without food if he fails.
• Phoebe tries to leave with a moving bag, and a dog puts its head out in front of everyone.
• Tag turns up after all, having broken up with his girlfriend that morning, and Rachel invites him in.
• Phoebe reveals the dog has been living there for three days without Chandler reacting, so Chandler confesses that he simply hates dogs.
• Chandler tells the group it is the dog or him, and Monica and Phoebe move Clunkers to Ross's apartment.
• Rachel asks the others how soon she can approach Tag, and Monica tells her to be a friend to him instead.
• Joey shouts from the window that Tag likes Rachel back, Rachel admits her crush, and Tag spots his car being stolen before he answers.
• Chandler goes to fetch Clunkers back for Monica and believes he has lost her, only to find the dog already returned to the apartment.
• Tag tells Rachel he was only upset by her saying nothing could happen between them, and he kisses her.
• Ross arrives late at night with Delaware and claims his dinner, though Chandler points out he listed Nevada twice.
